Fearless Birthing™ is designed to be respectful of all birthing options that support the safety of the mother-baby dyad. Therefore, there is a prerequisite of some sort of experience with safe birth.
Fearless Birthing™ is NOT a childbirth education class, nor is it meant to replace one. In fact, one of the duties of a Fearless Birth™ facilitator is to help the client find the childbirth class that will best help them realize their stated objectives. You do not need to be a childbirth educator, but you must be familiar with truly natural birth, either as a holistic physician, or as a doula or midwife.
Although the concepts behind Fearless Birthing™ are such that they will not be in conflict with most independent childbirth education programs, it is not to be combined with any existing program. There are guidelines for many childbirth education programs that prohibit altering the program in any way, shape or form. Fearless Birthing™ includes tools for facilitators that supports the parent, not interfer with practitioners of any sort with which the parent may interact.
